Essentially this route is the same as the Miners Needle Loop, but tacks on some of the Terrapin Trail and the Weavers Needle Crosscut. I've probably done the MNL over fifty times, but this morning it was definitely an excersise in character building by completing this hike when the Saguaro blooms are starting to drop, regardless if one adds the Bluff Saddle leg or not. There were a bunch of dying, overgrown bushes and unending spiderwebs to deal with along the way, but surprisingly, no viper sightings. We flushed five deer total, on two separate occasions, before the Bluff Springs junction. Not as many gnats and not as hot as expected because of the nice, constant eastern breezes. Dese only blew out one pad and poked her eye, but she'll recover quickly as usual.
