Calbasas campground

6:10 – Left truck outside campground gate – It was locked
6:36- Gate to Mud Tank was open – Took road out of the Canyon to the East
Very steep with lots of roly rocks
6:43- Top of Ridge out of canon – Great view of Atacsosa and Elephant head and more
6:59 – Abandoned Grave
7:05 – Walker Canyon Column comes in to view Third gate
7:24 – 3 mile mark - The road takes a pretty steep dive before heading the next peak.
7:36 – headed back- 1 hour 24 minutes to the turn around here.
8:20 – back in canyon at mud take gate – from here its level to the truck
8:22 – 8:26 rest water
8:43 – Game water station – Abandoned
8:51 – Back at second gate. This marks the South end of the Campground
8:58 – Back at truck
65 degrees at start – chilly with the wind
76 degrees back at truck
Took three quarts of water and used 2
On the way in I only rested at the end – 3 miles
Saw one deer and a lot of rabbits and ground squirrels.
Fantastic views – Solitude – Good workout hike
