Exit 29 I-19 FR 4151
Follow across Gasline until the road splits.
Instead of heading down toward Rock corral I stayed on the mesa and parked i na side flat area.
Headed Due North down into the canyon. This will be my jump off for the peak instead of the ned of the road like usual.
Eventually the creekbed turns into bedrock and there is a 20-40 foot set of cliffs.
This has been a really cool place to explore the last few times Ive been out this way and the edge of the cliffs is an easy landmark to caves, balanced rocks and a mine or two.
Found a lightly used game trail that led me to the creekbed below the cliffs.
Lots of nooks and crannies for hideouts.
a fair amount of trash.
Lots of chances to boulder hop and climb.
Nothing much of interest to report. Planning to go back down below the clifs via a short cut and continue East to check out that area.
Cows have cleared down to the dirt so its fast and easy travel.
Several pools of water. |
