Coming down was a little easier, as there was a somewhat better (but no less pants-ripping) route leading down from the end of FR 345A. I mastered a "scree slope glisade" down the mine tailings, which worked out quite well. Once back at the mine, I hauled it down the trail, and was able to catch a few sunset shots on the Dragoon cliffs. My return hike time from the Abril Mine to the west TH was 1 hour, 5 minutes, including photo stops. Since I was in the area, of course, I had to make a visit to Tombstone. Everything was closed at 7:00 on a Sunday night, but that made for a great photo-op of the historic district.
