| no partners | | This is hands down one of the most beautiful summits I have ever set foot on. It's like if the White Mountains were sitting in the middle of Sedona.
There's plenty of scrub oak to keep you honest, and being here during the height of fall colors I'm sure played a factor, but despite a cloudless sky and somewhat hazy air quality on this day, the 360 views are unmatched, and the ridgeline scramble from the BM to the high point keep it thoroughly interesting.
There's no sign of any of the survey disks, and the datasheets online don't add to the mystery, except to say they were originally set in 1949.
If you enjoy climbing mountains, skip the higher ones, the more prominent ones, the more popular ones, blah blah blah. Do this one. You won't be disappointed. |
