Sometimes you just need to put all the distractions of everyday on hold and spend some time in the wilderness with the people who make a difference in your life. Sunday was one of those days.

I don't know why I don't do this hike more. In 2007 on my first visit I decided it was my favorite hike in the state. I've hiked almost 1,400 unique trails since then, and it's really tough for me to come up with anything to change that opinion. For all the fires that have occurred nearby over the years, I'm glad that most of this landscape remains pristine. It's worth the trip.
