| no partners | | I had a rare Saturday afternoon free, so I decided to get a little weekend recreation in like a normal person - it felt strange, but nice!
There were a few more vehicles (7-8) at the lower Ladybug TH than I expected, even for a weekend - but it turned out most of them belonged to the mountain bike group who were doing some trail work ... I could hear and then see them for a few minutes from across the creek after I turned off towards Adams Flat.
The path along the pipeline was fine to follow, but it didn't appear to have gotten any use lately ... only a couple times did I see a faint footprint or two.
The creek is running pretty good, and there were some areas with nice Fall color.
Bird activity was fairly low - but it was midday, so not surprising. The three Coatimundis in the creekbed near Adams Flat were a nice surprise.
Adams Flat felt spooky and Blair-witchy, as usual. Spotted several tree stands, but again no other evidence of recent human visitation ... lots of evidence of bear visitation, but not too recent - probably from when the berries along the pipeline were ripe.
I turned around at the end of the official track and didn't see or hear anyone all the way back to the trailhead - where there was one woman and a few vehicles left.
Very enjoyable few hours. |
