| no partners | | 13 previous trips out to Adams Flat to view the falls from above, today on trip 14 I viewed them from the bottom up!
I wasn't even sure if this could be done up Jacobson Canyon, but I was gonna give it a try.
No trail up this narrowing canyon so I had to bushwhack, boulder hop, crawl & swim my way slowly up the creek. It took some time, but I finally made it to the massive V shape high granite walls and found myself 20 yards from the base of the falls ( just out of site )
A choke stone prevented me from the final climb up and under them, but that was OK as I was completely satisfied with how close I got. I then made one scary climb up and out of the canyon hooking up with the Adams Flat trail and back down completing a loop.
At 2.5 miles this was a short one, but it ended up being one of the more exhausting and painful afternoons I've had in years. My whole body is aching & bleeding and will require a hot tub soak and a tube of neosporin applied before bed tonight ....... Awesome Trip |
