| no partners | | Well I did bits and pieces of your suggested route but that was after I had gone to the top parking lot, studied the posted map, read HAZ description and realized I had gone too far. It was lucky that I could even find a parking spot at 3:30.
So once I realized the error of my way, I studied the posted map once again and started out but had to turn around fairly quickly as I realized I had left my other camera battery in the vehicle and that was after already turning around before to make sure my vehicle was locked. Sheesh.
It is noisy down by the ramadas but once you get to the first saddle of Trail 304, the noise dissapates. There were a few more people on the trail than I care to encounter but we are in the city after all. I had hiked this other side (north end) several times when I was trying to find Peak 2429 several years ago. I wanted to get my bearings before I did a full loop of that whole area which I fully intend to do. The sky was beautiful so I got lots of great pictures, too many.
Anyway, there are lots of trails scattered everywhere so you can goof around in this area quite a bit. I essentially did 304 to 1A, 1A for a couple ridges and then back the way I came with a little loop around to the 302. Very, very easy but scenic. I think I would like to do the 304 to the 1A the whole way. That looks like a great little hike.
But next weekend, hopefully it's back out to the Superstitions. |

Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
