I headed out thinking I might do Peralta to Fremont Saddle but getting to the turn off to the horse back ride area, I tested the temp and was concerned it might be nippy for me on the way back so I headed up to Boyce Thompson.
When I sat down to eat my lunch at the Demo Garden I heard a curious sound. It was of a pretty steady running of creek water... something you just don't hear very often out there. The Highline Trail was closed I presume because of the high water. It was a glorious day nonetheless and I am very proud of myself as I got several pics of a cardinal couple. I wonder if TortoiseHiker has ever gotten a cardinal couple .
Lots of people out today but it wasn't too bad as it is a large amount of acerage. I did go on some different paths this time and checked out the west side of the Interpretive Center section of cactus. And yes, I got way too many pics. I'll post the cardinals later. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
