Finally completed the last of the big three peaks in the McDowells. I reached Bell Pass just before 9am. Some internet sources mentioned a use trail most of the way to the top - no such luck for me.

I had fun with the scrambling, wherever possible. Also ended up on a false peak at the end of the ridge which required dropping down to a saddle, then regaining elevation to McDowell.

Took 15 up top, enjoying the beautiful views and clouds rolling in. On the descent, I was able to find more sections of what appeared to be a lightly used trail, only to have them run out as well. The path of least resistance will save you time, much simpler that way.

Wildflowers Observation Substantial
Lots of brittlebush, poppies, lupine, chicory, and hedgehogs.
