| partners | | the plan for today was to hit dome mountain and then peak 3134 east of the dome saddle
when we got to dome, john wanted to hit 3269
that's been on my wish list, so why not?
dropped down to the west, similar to heading for the camo tanks
then a bushwhack up to 3239
john spotted several bighorn sheep from the summit, which was the highlight of the hike for me
we went across to 3269 and checked out the views
had we used our approach for 3239 to hit 3269, then stayed high to 3239, we would have eliminated a lot of side hill on loose rock
then needed to follow our original approach on the return
between the peaks was not that difficult
we went back up to dome, then down to the saddle
nice to get a new set of peaks
3239 is a dramatic landmark, plus the sheep
want to hit 3134 and panorama again sometime
think the window for any off trail in the goldfields is closing
glad we changed plans, although this type of hiking is hard for me and i'm slow
good temps
a few off road vehicles on our way out
