The trail is mostly flat, with a few short ascents / descents, and nice views of the creek as well as the canyon walls along the way. The trail is almost all sand, ranging from 0.5 inch to 5 inches deep. We saw one deer that watched us from about 15 feet away. The pool created by the beaver dam was picturesque. The falls were bigger and more impressive than expected. There were 4 people at the falls when we arrived. We walked around and enjoyed the peaceful vibes. I jumped into the water, but it was bone-chilling and knocked the wind out of me, so I quickly jumped back out. After 15-20 minutes we headed back to the car. As we headed back, we counted over 75 people heading toward the falls. Clearly we had gotten there and gotten away at exactly the right time. |
