I think there is a hike like this on every drainage pouring out of the Bitterroot Mountains. Creekside hike to a waterfall along a shelf within the canyon.

Excellent trail the whole way and two nice waterfalls near the end. After visiting the second falls, I headed up trail to the wilderness boundary. I was hoping to see a wilderness sign, but the trail just unceremoniously ends abruptly in a mess of downfall within the apparent burn scar from the 2006 Gash Fire.
