| no partners | | Another pleasant hike along a raging creek to a set of waterfalls. The trail was in excellent shape and few more people on the trail than most of my hikes, but it was a Saturday and the hike is accessed pretty easily from Hamilton.
High cliffs and big views for most of the hike make this creek side hike in the Bitterroots a little unique. The trail was in excellent shape, with examples of thoughtful trail construction throughout the hike and a well built bridge at approximately the mile marker. I took an extended break at the waterfall with Dot and then returned the way we came. We passed several parties of runners, climbers, hikers and backpackers on the way out. The trail is clearly a local favorite. |
