| no partners | | I came back up to the Texas Eastern Pipeline for some laps, and a little extra hiking in the forest. I had been planning to return soon, and with the fire near Apple Pie Hill, today seemed like a good day.
I tend to stick to the pipeline right of way, but I took shade breaks in the forest, too. It makes almost no difference as it is so humid with the dew point being in the 70s all day. It was about as warm here as it was in Flagstaff today, but there is no comparison in comfort. I only did 5 laps despite thinking I might hike 6, but I ran out of water and there was no way I was doing one more. I think it was 94 or 95 for the high, but it is so horribly humid.
I have been using route scout since I got a new phone and was initially pleased to see I hiked about 2100' of AEG today. Well, when I synced it that fell back under 2000'. It is congruent with my stats for my last time here, but I was disappointed as I hoped I had been able to hike over 2,000' for the first time since Wilson Mountain. |
