| no partners | | Did this one with Angela (tibber) as an out and back just to the point where you turn left out of the creek to O'Grady. We ran into surprisingly few people for such a beautiful Saturday. There was a lot of water in the creek and a good flow at the falls. Rock hopping through the water was a breeze and can easily be done without poles. When we got to the falls, I took off my pack for the climb to the top and the look I got from Angela was saying, "You've got to be kidding... well, you have a nice time up there." I would never push someone to do anything they weren't comfortable with, but I had planned on trying a little persuasion to see if she was feeling adventurous. As I started up, I turned around and said, "See? It's easy. It's just like stairs." This prompted another look which I won't translate here. Yeah, I didn't think she was gonna buy that, so I just went on to the top. Not even a minute later, I see her pop over the ridge. Way to go, Angela! And, she got back down without a hitch, too. She's no sissy... all she needs is a bad influence for motivation! I'm currently trying to convince her to ditch work so we can go to Fish Creek!
Considering how overgrown most of the trails out there have become this year, there wasn't too much catclaw to contend with for a change. I have gotten into the habit of carrying a set of clippers, so we took turns cutting a better path through some of the heavier sections along the way making the return trip a snap and much more skin-friendly.
