After all the rain we got on Friday night and Saturday, you'd like to think that the unpredictable falls would be running on Sunday morning. No such luck. You just never know. On the bright side, it was a perfect day for hiking and for photos... blue sky, puffy white clouds, wildflowers were still quite pretty out there and the cactus are now blooming. The trail was lush with trees along the drainages - there was a short section that was like walking through a jungle. It wasn't difficult to get through, but it was kinda cool.

The first half of the trail is well worn and needs no additional 'clues'. In the upper area where cairns would be useful, all the plants were taller than the height of the cairns, so it's hard to see them. And, although it is cairned to death up there, they take you in all different directions. There doesn't seem to be one obvious main trail anymore. Three of us hiking all took different 'trails' and ended up in the same place sooner or later. I guess, just go 'up' on the way out (as you can see your destination), and 'down' on the way back!

With a lot of daylight left, we had considered hiking over to Praying Hands or heading down to Hackberry to check the water levels over there, but kicking back on my front porch with some Margaritas and a nice view of the Supes was the unanimous decision!
