After a good night sleep and a nice breakfast (stayed at a B&B called 'The Graham Bed and Breakfast Inn' which I highly recommend), headed to the trailhead and arrived at around nine. The construction traffic seems to be getting worse vs. better in Sedona, so plan accordingly. The weather was cool with high cloud cover, but the very windy conditions made it feel much colder, especially at the summit. I can always spot winter visitors to Arizona, in that regardless of the weather they are wearing shorts and t-shirts - and there were a number of visitors on the hike - shaking in their sandals. The hike itself was tough with a lot of climbing, but the most beautiful yet of my Sedona hikes. The scenery/geology was amazing and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is in hiking shape. This is a hike not to be missed!!!!!!!!!!!! |
