| no partners | | I started at the Wagon Wheel trailhead.hadn’t been to this trailhead in awhile. Was surprised to see it full at 5:50am. A portable office and 4 portapotties there as well. It seems they are building a new parking lot. Looks like Wagon Wheel will dead end at the parking lot in the future. When you take the first part of Goldmine to get to Dynamite you can see Goldmine is rerouted over by the graveyard so it’s not a detour anymore. It is the trail.
I took Dynamite trail out. It is in great shape! Had a mixture of dog walkers, hikers, and runners. Took a left when I got to San Tan and took it over to merge with Goldmine. San Tan was good for the short part I did. Mountain bikers started showing up in this area. Took Goldmine back to the car. Goldmine is rocky but not bad from this side. Going down the north side is rocky and loose until you get to the base of the mountain. Nice little workout. If you don’t like the loose stuff Dynamite would be good for an out and back! Had shade for over half the hike. Very enjoyable outing. |
