Started from Estrella Foothills Community Park and headed east/southeast on desert two track until I reached the Estrella Mountain Regional Park fenceline at Homestead trail. Followed the fenceline south to the BLM east/west fence. Interestingly, you have to follow the BLM fence for about a half mile to a barb wire gate allows access to the BLM land. Then you can follow the same fence back east to the Pedersen access road gate. A faint, but easily followable 2 track continues to follow the EMRP fence south, east, and then south again to the southwest corner of the Park. South from there on what would be 155th Ave to Germann west to 163rd Ave, north past GNODS and then west to the pipeline road that runs parallel to Estrella Parkway. North back to the Community Park. Plenty of fresh tracks in the sand, but no one but me around. |
