| no partners | | Yes, after the flowers again. Poppies are there but not as thick and seems maybe a freeze got them at some point, lots of petals off already. We drove around a lot, I love exploring old dirt roads. I hiked a little and my knee did ok, even thrashing around off trail in a little slot canyon with a tiny creek; slid down a short waterfall on my butt.
Areas touched upon--Dripping Springs mountains foothills area, around El Cap and the Mescals.
Made a friend of a colorful burro.
We hiked up a mud flow stone amphitheater type setting which slotted up into a very shallow multi slots but fun to clamber up with tiny pools.
Other flowers were plentiful, the Dichelostemma capitatum ( insert seventh grade humor here), tiny owl clover, chicory, etc.
I added some previous weekend post rain macros to the Winkelman Walkabout 09 album, for those who are interested. Will work on these pics when I can. |
