| no partners | | | I have done this hike several times; a favorite. The Cave House is on private land so I will not give specific directions, although it is frequently visited. I hiked a lollipop involving an old miner/rancher trail which is in terrible shape and which I lost several times. Then a road walk on a ranch, then the descent to the canyon and a visit to the old house. Return up canyon with rock hopping, a little wading and enjoying seeing more details of the canyon walls courtesy of the mostly bare trees. Flooding has cleaned out the canyon bottom making it a little easier. The lone drawback, a very loooong, but scenic, drive to the access. |
