| no partners | | Rathrum Mtn is a fairly easy nearby summit, and fit the bill for today. Rathdrum Mtn Park is constantly adding new trails, but almost no signage, and I noticed a lot of new trails today. I’ll have to take a day to explore the new options there. Today, I headed up StormKing all the way to the park boundary, then continued up forest roads all the way to the summit. Generally easy hiking, with one short steep section just below a saddle, and the final half mile or so is steeper and rocky.
Good views from the summit. Headed back down on the road, then took one of the new trails back the rest of the way to the parking area, which cut a couple of miles off the hike. Only saw people near the trailhead. Good weather, in the 60s most of the time. |
