When I got out to hike this morning I discovered that my Garmin had not charged and was already DOA. I hiked a route that was pretty close to the “Mystery Loop”, but was not the same route. I went along the small range to the north of the Christiansen and visited parts of the Perle Charles, Voaz and LV Yates along with a bunch of use trails. Kind of nice to do some trails that I haven’t done in years.
Started from the 40th St. TH. A little annoyed that I had to wait for gates to be opened at 5. I could have parked on a side street and hiked in early, but I didn’t. Ok sunrise. I was hoping for better. Nice breeze and mountain shade made the temps feel cooler than they probably were. Not much wildlife: a few jackrabbits and quail. Encountered 9 other hikers in my wanderings. |
