| no partners | | This was an attempt to recreate a hike we had done years back but decided at the TH to switch it up. Hackberry Springs remained the destination but at the TH we noticed a sign that literally said Hackberry Springs! So after waiting 10 minutes for a rainstorm to move out of there area we hopped on it.
I gotta say between the storm clouds and the landscape it made for a pretty nice hike. The steep drop into the canyon where Hackberry springs was a little sketchy with rain the rain but manageable. It was enough to convince us to return up through access mapped out on the original Hackberry Springs Loop hike. It had been quite a few years since we did this hike but despite a little more boulder hopping than I remembered we managed to make our way through the corrals.
The springs had a few frogs but they disappeared as we approached.
There was some evidence of a fire that had move through in recent years but didn't take away from the landscape. |
