Quick little hike. Saw one snake but only the tail, definitely not a rattler. Last time we did Hackberry it was from Firstwater and we avoided the old corral then because from a distance it doesn't necessarily read as abandoned so today was fun to get up close. We didn't get to see any frogs swimming at the spring as we did last time. We were shocked at how many folks were in the area and on trail, our previous visit we didn't see one person, this time at least 20 and at least six or so were on horseback. Once we got to the spring we decide kind of off the cuff to make a loop out of the hike and took a chance we would be able to find the trail we knew from our last visit was there but decided to keep to our then planned route. There was a decent chance that we would miss it but it could not have been planned better. Good little hike all in all.
