| no partners | | Took a few days rest due to some sinus trouble. Thought it was a cold but it only lasted a few days.
I decided to hike out to the Red Tanks trail and look for the arch. I forgot to tell @LindaAnn and @trekkin_gecko to look for it last month when they were hiking the Super loop. 
The morning was nice and it stayed cool with ample cloud cover. The trails are good but Coffee Flat and Red Tanks trails are getting overgrown east of Reeds Water. The creek was flowing and should still be with the recent bit of rain.
I missed a turn off and hiked up Randolph Canyon a bit before noticing an alcove I checked out a few years back. That works out because now ITh have a landmark for the turn off to a spring that's not on the map. This area would be better to access from Woodbury Trailhead but what's a few extra miles?
No fauna spotted with the cloud cover keeping the cold blooded ones from coming out. I did find some chemical packets used for testing copper content of the water near the confluence of Red Tanks & Randolph canyons. I filtered water out the creek down stream 5 days ago so I wondered if there were trace amount of bicinchoninic acid disodium salt in the water? 
Once back on Red Tanks trail I located the arch, took a few photos and turned back. I had 9 miles to get back and was feeling tired so I didn't explore more. I saw a few hikers on the way back. I stayed in Randolph Canyon which is more open than the trail and took a rest near Reeds Water. A good day to get some miles in.
