| no partners | | | Boy did I luck out with the weather.... it was 53 degrees today at 6:50 AM at the trailhead. Parked at the Cave Creek Trailhead parking lot and followed Trail #4 for about a mile to junction at #247 for less than a quarter mile where it meets up with Trail #246 Skunk Tank. Stayed on #246 past where it meets #250 on around to Trail #4 and back to the start. I've always hiked Trail #4 from Seven Spring down into Spur Cross as a one way. Looked at the map this week and noticed all the loop choices that are available. In almost 6 hours I did not see one other hiker. The beauty of this area is in the vast vistas. The terrain is very much like the Prescott area. High altitude on my GPS was 4062 feet. |
