| no partners | | | WOW... after only about a half and hour my wife and I were rating our past hikes and this one makes the top 5. The long clear vista's with mountain ranges for a far as you can see make it very special. For most of the hike you have Mt Rainier in few coming in and out of the clouds that hang around the summit. We did it counter clockwise at the advise of our RV site manager. You get a longer view of Rainier this way. Take pictures when it's out of the clouds as it's often covered. I love hiking into the cloud cover (getting on top of the layer did not happen on this trip). For about half the hike you are in green vegetation...then area's on where past glaciers have racked the ground of all but rock. Max elevation on this hike was 7021 feet. |
