Howling winds and the threat of rain were OK, given that this mountain has to be unacceptably hot for over 75% of the year. Up we went, in good spirits, and the canyon made for solid rock-hopping as we climbed ever higher. The route-finding is very straight-forward all the way up. At the saddle, Ken's cloud curse appeared to be lifting as we got higher, but they rolled back in as we got within spitting distance of the summit. Then, right on cue, the clouds cleared off literally the minute we got to the top. What timing! Light drizzle came off and on the rest of the way down, but our views were not blocked. Great adventure |
