| no partners | | With the storm I wanted to see snow and not a lot of people so Brian and I took off to a winter wonderland. We headed east and sure enough after Texas Canyon on I-10 it was all white everywhere. Out of Willcox we headed toward Muleshoe. The drive was surreal in the snow covered hill and flats. Followed single set of tracks on the ranch road. Warbonnet Ranch decked in pure untracked snow.
Made it to Muleshoe and decided to see how far we could get on the Jackson Cabin road. Pretty far. Had to use the winch once where the FJ almost slid off the road. 2-8 inches of snow depending.
Car Camped past Pride Ranch and hiked a little on down the road and up on ridges. Tremendous views of the Redfield Canyon Wilderness. Might've made it to Jackson cabin but a couple of places I just didn't want to do with a heavy vehicle sliding down a hill like a giant toboggan.
We broke "road" part of the way. Didn't see another soul. |
