| no partners | | I started this trip on a mission... to find the famous "Master Map". I tried this trip last week from the Peralta TH and searched for about an hour to find the map but to no avail, leaving frustrated and a little disappointed. This week I started from First Water TH in search of the map. This is the second most direct route to Charlebois Spring adding about 1.5 miles more each way. Last week I made a long loop, but had no intentions of adding anything to the trip as it was already going to be close to 17 miles round trip.
I made good time to Charlebois Spring, covering the 8.5 miles in about 3.5 hours, which is good by my standards. The hardest part of the trip was Bull Pass and it's not that strenuous. I know that Joe B said and I quote "I did a little jog up to the pass"; it was not quite that easy then again he has young legs.
I spent about 2 hours looking again.... exhausted I had to give up again; it felt like I was searching for the Dutchman and the lost mines. I headed home wondering if I would ever find it.
I now have better information on the location and will try again in about 2 weeks. I will keep everyone posted on my success. This has definitely been a challenge
