We decided to do a short loop from Crosscut TH to Massacre falls by way of Praying Hands. The trail is very good until you start bushwhacking to Massacre Falls; there are only a few cairns that we could find after you make the turn east toward the falls. We lost the trail and proceeded to follow the ridge line for the last mile to the falls, thankfully there is very little cactus or catclaw in this area. We reached the ridge in front of the falls and stopped for a break. We did not go the last few hundred yards to the falls because there was no water flowing at this time of year. We proceeded back to the old Massacre Falls TH and at the fence line there is a well-marked new trail that leads back to the Crosscut TH.
