| partners | | My initiation into the Superstition Mountains was an epic one! Thanks for Joe, Bob, Norm, John, Jim and Denny for coming out and joining me, it was a real treat! Glad others had headlamps because I left the flashlight in the car. I was pretty beat on the first leg but after about 1 1/2 rests I got some wind in my sails. Do wish I had brought more layers because I felt cold the entire time it was dark and most of the time on the Flatiron and peak. The clouds and fog made for spectacular scenery, although the fog thickened up on when we were on the peak and I never got to see Weaver's. Guess I'll just have to come back again . Highlight of a great day was Bob inventing the "Agave Olympics". Norm and I got rained and hailed on coming down, but thankfully not when we were up high. Made it back to the car precisely at 10:30 to run off to my family function. Ate a fat 1/2 hamburger to make up for all the calories I burned. Thanks again for the great company, guys! Lookin' forward to the next HAZ outing. |
