camped at Big Lake and came over here twice. first to Terry Flat trail, then the Escudilla Trail. Leaves are turning and so if you want to see them, you better go NOW!. I walked so slow because I am just into the beauty of the place. I was in no hurry at all. I almost fell asleep in the the first meadow vista you come to. My brother blew out his shoes, so I fixed them with Spruce Sap and 550 cord and so we finished the trail. LOL his whole sole came off. Got to the tower and we were the only ones left that day, so it was exteremly quite. Watched falcons dive, and could see a fire around Big lake - east black river area. it was a controlled burn we later found out. This is a MUST SEE hike. Not sure what you can see from up here, but the Blue Mts, Big lake, Mt. Badly, New mexico desert, and maybe Mexico. One of the best hikes I been on in a while. Temps at night in the upper 40's and day time in the 75-80 range.
