| partners | | Seeing Chumley's Triplog from 10/16 (Thanks!), and his forecast for the best color the following weekend... I thought I'd give it a try. The forecast called for highs in the low 40's and a 20% chance of rain, but I had to give it a try. The drive on the Rim Road had me a bit concerned since visibility off the rim was non-existent and on the road, got as bad as 15'.
Without Chumley's driving directions and Grasshopper's driving GPS route (Opt #1), this TH would have been very east to miss(Thanks guys!).
The toughest part of the actual hike was finding the starting point, but once you find the first PVC pipe, you just follow the rest of the PVC pipes.
So the question becomes... was there any color? OMFG..... Hiking is verrry slow while you ooouuee and aaahhh and wait for the camera to cool down to take more pictures.
I'll shut up now. If you like color, check out the pictures.....If not, move on to the next Triplog. I challenge anyone to find better color.
ps. I also stopped by Knoll Lake on the way home to check out the color there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr0zffb9n5I |
