Lots of backtracking on the way down, trying to find ways around pourovers, etc. Found two Petzl bolted-in anchors above the big pourover. The river was nice (as always), but we only spent a few minutes there due to time. Took 45 minutes to get back out - smooth as pie. Encountered a hippie couple hiking in at almost 4:30, just after we finished singing "Fat Bottomed Girls" really loud. They had to have thought we escaped from a mental institute. Good hike. Wind was howling on the rim, so when we got back to the vehicles, it was a quick goodbye. I think I need to change the fuel filter on my truck. John and I headed back to Page, discussing politics, while Liz went back to her motel room in Marble Canyon. All in all, a good day on the trail! |
