| no partners | | Went with PageRob and ToadOfTheRocks (John), also of Page, on this short, but sweet, little adventure. Not really canyoneering, but sort of. There is a little bit of route-finding if you have not first been told which side you need to be on to get past the pour-overs.
At the river, a beach where you could camp if backpacking, but not the best beach on the Colorado River by any means. But no boaters are allowed to camp here, so backpackers would have it to themselves.
All in all, I can chalk it up as one more beach I have hiked to within Grand Canyon National Park. Since, yes, you are in GCNP when at the river, although when you start the hike you are in Glen Canyon NRA. At least, that is my understanding of the jurisdictional distributions in that area. Am I right, Rob? |
