| partners | | We searched in circles looking for Bob's GPS without luck. It was windy yet warm for mid December. Believe the warmest of the recent weeks.
Next headed down to check out the odor reported above the Thicket Springs area. It's kind of a solid wall of chaparral to even find a spot to go off trail. Bob found a tiny gully so we darted in at the opportunity. The first fifty-ish feet were dense, then it was off and on.
No odor was present aside from crawling through the sugar sumac which has a very faint sweet loft. Standing at Ken's waypoint I noticed a buck jumping out of the ravine. Maybe 40 yards below. So we decided to angle down back to the trail and see if there was anything at the spot the buck jumped out. No dice. The wind must have died down after the sunrise as there wasn't even a breeze down lower. |
