Did the Palo Verde Trail yesterday as I approach the finish line for the 60 within 60 miles, Phoenix. This was number 58. Just have Cave Creek/Skunk Creek which I will do this weekend and then on Saturday the 30th Browns Peak at Four Peaks! Can't wait for that one. Anyone interested is welcome to join as I am trying to get a small group together to do it. As for this hike it was done in the afternoon and it was a bit warm but the views were spectacular. The lake seemed very low and there was minimal boating activity. The trail was good but a bit overgrown in spots. Toward the SB Cove end it was difficult to follow and I got off trail a few times and had to turn back to reconnect with the trail thus making it take longer. Overall a nice hike with several ups and downs along the way. Kinda like life.
