| no partners | | | Today I did the Brittlebush Trail but with a little twist. I am doing the 60 Hikes within 60 Miles Book thing and upon arrival of the Dirt Road off the Hwy it appeared to be closed to all motor vehicles. There was a fence at the road that was closed so I didn't know what to do? I traveled such a distance to do this hike. Basically I just parked the Truck there at the small parking lot off the Highway and started hiking down the road toward the Trailhead. Keep in mind it is 6 miles down the road to start this 12 mile "out and back" hike. What to do? Just keep on going and set out to do as much of the trail as possible keeping daylight in mind. As it would turn out I just couldn't resist doing the whole thing to Margies Cove and hiking the last hour out in the dark. It turned a 12 mile easy Trek into a 24 mile foot buster. So much for doing the Barnhardt Trail tomorrow. It looks like I will be doing that one Saturday. I would say as remote as this trail is it is a really nice hike (without the road of course). It is just probably not one I would do again given the drive. I will post pictures in the morning. I am beat and my dogs are barking. Ha I don't even have pets. |
