Old Baldy Trail #372 to Wrightson Summit

We decided to climb Mt Wrightson and avoid most of the crowds. According to a couple in the group the trailhead had been relocated - so the trail is now longer than originally documented. The beginning of the trail is a gravel road which then turns into a trail and it starts to climb. The climb is not as steep as the Old Baldy trail. Because of fires in the past, there is very little shade on this trail. Therefore, we were thankful for the breeze.

We did encounter many people once we hit the Old Baldy Trail from the Saddle. I was glad that we had taken the less traveled route. Owning an Outback does come in handy

I got to try out my new birthday present, a new Go Lite umbrella with a reflective dome. Great for situations like these. I still need to figure out the perfect method for attaching it to my pack.

8 of us, including one 12 lb dog, Joseph, made it to the top. It's surprising how well Joseph can hike. He did need a bit of help on the way back - he was getting over heated from sun exposure. His daddy was nice and carried him.
