We took forever to get there due to many stops to adjust a frame pack (this was a training hike for one of them, whose first backpacking trip will be in March to Reavis Ranch). The way back was inspired by the promise of a 44oz slush at Circle K, if we made it back in 30 minutes (their idea). I had no faith whatsoever that we would make it and predicted an hour for the return, but talk about having the right motivation: they both wanted that slush and one of them loves to run downhill. He set the pace and we made it.
