| no partners | | Did a day hike to get to know the area for a future backpacking trip. I took the 'short' trail straight down the ridge but came back up the new and improved trail. That route was about half a mile longer. I'll upload my GPS track of both. The trail has been maintained and no trees blocked the path. After reaching the valley I hiked a mile south to check out one of the bigger pools and saw a few nice campsites along the way. The terrain here was pretty flat, which made for good walking. I think this is why the creek has so many wide shallow sections, instead of rapids.
Note: The road in was rough for the last mile, due to a couple rocky patches and several deep puddles. |
