So we drove 9 hours to Fresno and stayed there in a hotel the first night. Next morning we got to the Yosemite NP entrance by about 8:00 am and saw the giant sequoias. There was plenty of parking when we got there but the road entering the grove was closed because the lot was full when we left. Perfect timing! I love how big those trees are. Sandy and I loved the visit there. Then we drove to Glacier Point and had lunch there. $20 for two sandwiches one can buy at circle-k for about $5. Sandy said it was good training for our upcoming trip to Disney Land ?. The view made up for it. Then we entered the valley and got the pictures right after the tunnel (man that's a long tunnel!). Then to Bright Angel falls, A stop to snap a picture of El Capitan, Yosemite Village, Visitor Center, Museum, Awahnee Motel and then checked in to Housekeeping Camp. It's very nice there and we were right on the river. Went to the pizza place for dinner and then asked the housekeeping office to move us to a different camp sight 'cause our neighbors were out-of-control- noisy. The office was very accommodating. Next morning we were on the Mist Trail early, I like Vernal Fall better than Nevada Fall. We were in our campsite by lunch and just hung out in our hammocks and looked up at the sky and trees the rest of the day and soaked it all in. 6:00 am the next morning and it was off to tackle Half Dome. There weren't any other people on the cables when we went up and we only passed two on the way down. Scary, Fun, and Exhilarating! Back in camp again by lunch. Then the next morning we were off back down to the valley floor at 6:00 am. Got to the car at 10. Bought our "we climbed half dome" t-shirt and then left the valley for the Tuolumne Meadows. The scenery driving there was so different and beautiful, the lakes, the view of Half Dome from the other side, the high peaks with snow. Then it was over and down tioga pass, very steep. We took hwy 395 all the way to Lone Pine where we camped our final night. It was at the foot of Mt Whitney. We drove up to the trail head of Mt Whitney because we're thinking about making it our next big adventure. Then it was home. It was just a fabulous, well planned out, super fun trip.
