|Fun, fun, fun. My forth big hike in the Bradshaws now. Despite the burned areas and long drive I'm still loving this range on every visit. Have yet to cross paths with another hiker and the place is just loaded with history. Killer Lake Pleasant, White Tank, Estrella and South Mtn views to name a few.
Passed through Crown King with an odd sight so near to the valley... creeks flowing all over!
We started this August hike only 40 miles as the crow flies from home in beautiful morning light filtering through the pines. Dew on the ground cover, sixty two degrees and I was loving this one. We parked about 0.8mi after the upper Algonquin and headed over to Lane Mtn 233.
The views heading down Lane were nice all the way and stellar in areas. This bad boy is steep. It was also humid as heck. Once we reached Copper Creek, a head dunk, shirt rinse, b shot and most importantly a Dora the Explorer gummy pack got the spirits in gear. FYI, Scooby is nothing but a wanna be gummy compared to Dora.
Down on Humbug Creek we lunched, chatted with some jeepers then headed up. We passed a group of 40 jeeps off and on three times. Bruce was throwing out HAZ gang signs. They were throwing out "walking" jokes to cattle calling us on loud speakers and what not. A fun bunch and a good time until we had to part ways.
To complete the loop we attained a route from somewhere. A couple signs I thought read "Keep Quite" turned out to be boundary signs or something. Kinna difficult to read through the heavy drizzle and all. Next time I'll bring my spectacles.
Started at 62 degrees, 80 at lunch on Humbug and 74 to finish.
Wildflowers I went with moderate for entire hike. An unbelievable variety throughout was surprising.
edit: may have been AZVJC
noticed ol' HAZ dutch hunter djui5 was on their "fail" list, would have been cool to meet Randy
