| no partners | | We got a late start, and drove to within 15 minutes of the first drop. Nice canyon, we bypassed the first two drops easily with determined bushwacking, the third Brian skirted it on an airy ledge then slid down and ran down a little ways. We were just exploring, as we had no rope or gear. Cloud cover and low water made things pretty easy except for tons of mosquitos. Bug dope just seemed to encourage some of them.
We came back and explored around, found an incredible old corral with huge juniper logs looked hand split with ax shaped ends. No telling how old.
Looked for a mine we were told about not on the topo and it ended up being a goose chase but hiked some more and off trail in another small steppy slickrock canyon.
Saw some mushrooms just coming up, a snake, flowers and bugs. Good day. |
