| partners | | Our first official "hike" in Zion, and even though it was simple and short, it didn't disappoint! In fact, it was nice that it wasn't too crowded (unexpectedly). This is a great first view of Zion, and if you're entering the park from the east and not in a hurry to get a campsite (they fill up before 10am) you should consider stopping before the tunnel and taking this stroll to get a glimpse of what you're about to experience.
It's a very easy hike, and the scenery is nothing short of spectacular! We scrambled around a bit on the slickrock to the north of the viewpoint (as can be seen in my gps track), and could have gone much further up the mountain if we had more time. I imagine further scrambling exploration could be worth the effort to take in expanded views. |
