I have hiked Boulder Canyon Trail to La Barge Creek, but today was the day to go farther and get closer to Battleship.

We crossed the creek and stayed on the trail to the connection with Second Water. Then we started hunting for the way up the backside. We found the cairn by the rock wall and headed up. There must be an easier way!

We got up to the saddle and scoped out Battleship and considered if we wanted to give it a shot or not. We decided we weren't feeling that adventurous.....next time.

We headed down and instantly found an awesome trai......could we have climbed this up, instead of making our own trail?

We took an extra long break in the box before heading back to the trailhead.
